Happy Spring!

Monday, March 20, 2006

Can you believe today is the first day of spring?!?! Actually, around here, in Central Mississippi, there have been signs of spring for a couple of weeks with trees budding, birds gathering nesting materials, and plenty of yellow-green pollen covering our vehicles. Signs of new life after the dark, lifeless winter are refreshing, bringing hope for brighter days.

Our spiritual lives often pass through seasons as well. We experience the summer of tremendous growth, the autumn of being pruned, the winter of resting, and the spring with revitalization, new beginnings, and growing. These are expected cycles. Yet, just as something would be terribly wrong with the world if it were always winter, there is something wrong spiritually if our souls never experience spring. Let’s use this season of new beginnings to reflect on our new life in Christ – it’s time to leave the winter behind in preparation for bringing Christ and His refreshing hope to our world.
