My Dear Daughter age 10 became Dear Daughter age 11 last Monday. She’s my youngest. These milestones always leave me a bit weepy as the “Empty-Nest” season of my life draws a bit nearer. Too near. I like my nest full and lined with feathers. Yet as much as I dread the end of childhood days, I realize it’s not only inevitable, but it is desirable. If the children aren’t growing properly it means something is dreadfully wrong.
I am reminded that we all start out as babes in Christ, drinking only the simplest milk of the Word, totally dependent on others, and crying when things don’t go our way. Yet, we are commanded in 2 Peter 3:18 to “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” If we aren’t growing and maturing in our faith, something is dreadfully wrong. And while we should be patient with those (including ourselves) who are young in the faith, we should never settle for stunted growth. We were “Born Again” in order to grow more and more like Jesus, for we weren’t made to toddle and stumble, we were created to soar. Isaiah 41:31

Drewe Llyn-
I don't have any children but I can sure appreciate your comments about having to grow in the Christian faith! Have you noticed how many are content to stay "babies" forever?...There are days when I think to myself....Oy!
But then I remember that I have to "grow" myself in loving others.
